The AFHOD Director Ms. Rosette Launching the Rich Every Gal (REG) sanitary pad project. This project is being implemented in Kibisire-Kibwera, Karujumba, Kitabu Sub County, Kasese District. 100 girls were reached in phase one, they received packages of sanitary pads that will see them of 5 months. Then another redistribution cycle will start after 5 months and enroll more girls.
Due to the inability to effectively manage menstruation 2 out of 5 girls cannot afford or do not have access to sanitary pads. The unavailability of sanitary products in Uganda is a major barrier to girls of school-going age. As AFHOD, we are trying to reach such girls and empower both the parents and girls to be concise about menstrual health.
